Long time no blogging!

With all these new social networking websites (twitter/facebook/tumblr/etc), who really blogs anymore?

Let's move on. So what is new with me?
I am officially a San Francisco resident and I'm a college graduate (I earned my Associates but currently working my way towards a Bachelors Degree).
I recently moved from Daly City to San Francisco. Although it's only a five minute drive, it's totally a different atmosphere. There's not that much fog, busier streets, and it's a lot more crowded. I enjoy the city oh so much. I always feel like there's something to do such as: taking the muni down to Powell for a satisfying shopping spree or driving up to Twin Peaks on a clear day just to enjoy the breathtaking view. San Francisco never cease to bore me and I love her for that.
As I was walking towards the Bart on Market six months ago, a mother with her daughter in hand asked if I knew where the nearest McDonald was located. I quickly pointed her to the right direction and that was when it hit me. I no longer stand out from the usual crowd on Market Street. I no longer am a tourist, I'm one of them. You know? Those people that are always busy going somewhere downtown. The big trade off is I don't really get the unfamiliar feeling I use to get when Robert and I drove up to the city from San Jose for a day at the Golden Gate Park.

That feeling that I’m trying to describe is a bit of excitement, curiosity, and a pinch of new air. Whenever I visit a new city, such as Los Angeles- I am fascinated with everything: the streets, restaurants, architecture, and most of the all the people. I no longer feel that way for San Francisco. But it's okay. I still love it nonetheless.

My boyfriend is graduating next summer? BOY, does time fly? It still boggles my mind whenever I think about it. Next summer, I'll be in one of my summer dresses walking with his family on College Avenue in Berkeley to his graduation ceremony. I'm so proud of him.

(no subject)

Robert's mom was showing me her pearl necklace and she said to me, "When you get married, I'll give this to you."
I replied jokingly, "What? I'm not going to marry him."
She quickly responded, "If you don't marry him, you're going to make him cry."

She's like a second mother to me. His sister is also like the sister I never had. I love them all :)
Including Peanut too.

Live healthy

It's been a month now since I've fully committed myself to eating healthier, going to the gym at least 3 times a week, and hitting the sheets by 10:00pm. Sure, I've been meaning to eat healthier and exercise regularly for over a year now but I wasn't able to maintain my routine. I would be good for 2 weeks then start to get lazy again. This time, it took more determination and self-motivation. The feeling you get after a great workout definitely is worth it. I also feel realllllllllllllly guilty if I miss my workout a certain day but the next day, I workout twice as harder.

I love living a healthier life- I think you should too.

Checking in

Hello, hello everyone!

It's been a while since I've had time to post a new entry. I've been super busy lately so let's catch up!

So let's see what's new since I've last updated.
1. Robert moved back to Berkeley (obviously since school started well over a month ago).
2. I have another new roommate, Soeun Park. I now live with two Koreans, LOL! Jk.
3. I'm almost done with my medical program, I will be graduated early January. But college for me doesn't stop there.
4. I'm interning at St. Francis Medical Center (Nob Hill) in the city.
5. I'm a mentor, which means I tutor students who needs help at my school to fulfill my requirements for 40 hours of volunteer work.

I'm busy as a bee but I like it. I also like how the Holidays are slowly getting nearer! Halloween here I come! Can anyone guess what I'm going to be this year?

How many keys do you have?

I received my first set of keys for my house when I was ten or eleven years old (old enough to walk home from school). I would compare my set of keys with my parents or my older cousins and I'd wish to have more keys on mine. It was so plain and boring- just two keys dangling from a key fob. I wanted my own car keys and keys for the mail box or something like them. So I started collecting key chains to make my set of keys "look" more full. After a few years, eventually I started collecting more keys instead of key chains. Then soon after, I'd have to take some key chains off to make more room for my new keys.
Now, I only have one key chain and ten keys not including my keyless entry remote for my car. It's not as fun as I thought it would be because I realize with each key, is another responsibility.

Keep Tahoe Blue

Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe, California

Finally an opportunity arises for us to go on vacation. We originally planned to go to Southern California but Robert's sister, Anny was going on a business trip to Lake Tahoe so she invited us along.

Lake Tahoe is magnificently beautiful, it was a breath of fresh air and water. Our first day there Ryan, Robert and I went Kayaking at King's Beach. The following day, all four of us(Ryan, Anny, Robert and I) went river rafting!

The Jonas Brothers?

Whoa, whoa, whoa!
I'm surprised I'm not deaf from last night. I've been to a series of concerts but this one is definitely not my kind of crowd. It was a last minute thing. My friend/class mates/gym buddy is a FANATIC (she dragged and paid for me to go watch Hannah Montana in Concert 3D with her a few months ago) for the Jonas Brothers and she had won two tickets from Wild 94.9, unfortunately her friend (who is also a huge fan) couldn't go with her so they were going to give the tickets away to someone else but that didn't work out.
After hearing so, without thinking I said, "I'll go!" because I didn't want to the tickets to go to waste..

Normally, I would prep a week before a concert. I do like a "boot camp" which means, the week before the concert I would listen to whomever is performing all day and night so I can learn their music and lyrics. This makes my experience ten times better.

This was our close we were.

"A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step."

It's late at night and while Mimi is sound asleep, I'm restlessly still awake. For the record, I've been doing homework.

So in less than 24 hours, it will mark the 4th year and 8th month of our relationship. I was tempted to write "journey" as I feel it's much more than just the whole "boyfriend/girlfriend" thing. So okay, 4 years and 8 months into this journey? :shrugs:

What have we done lately? Well...we finally got to see a couple of the movies we've been meaning to watch (Wall-E and Wanted; I give Wall-E 4.5 stars and Wanted 3.5...I predict she will give Wall-E 4 or 4.5 as well but Wanted will receive only 2.5 or 3), we ate Chinese food for Independence Day (lol), we've driven a lot of miles (as usual), she's finished with the quarter (almost done!), I've been busy with my internship (so-so), an unfortunate mishap occurred (sorry babe..), and other little things as well..

Well okay, what have we reaalllly done lately?
To be honest, not much. Not much aside from living our lives together on a daily basis. Getting up together, going back to sleep together, being late together, her finally going to school and me going to work, eating dinner (lunch, really) together, falling asleep together; repeat.
Sure, it's not the most exciting routine, but it's OUR current routine and I'm very happy to have someone who is accepting of it and is "routine-ing" with me. She's someone that is..it's hard to say really what I feel. But the summation of what I want to say can be separated into many bits and pieces such as:
"She's with me."

"She's here."

"She's mine."

"She's...Mimi."

I don't think that many people that we know can comprehend exactly what it is I feel and am trying to convey. However, I certainly hope everyone does get to experience it sooner or later as it's...profound.

With that aside, a personal message to her:
I know that you do grow tired of our routine at times, especially when you see others doing things (read: going places) that you want to do.. I want you to know that I immensely want those things as well, probably even more than you since I feel it's my responsibility so to speak, and thus, often feel like..well, I fail.
Please understand that if our lives just happened to be similar to whoever it is that you see/hear/read about going to whereever, (commonly meaning that I would be working a good amount instead of slowly crawling towards my unknown future of breadwinning through unpaid opportunities, both of us having matching schedules for good durations, one or both of us not going to school full-time, etc.) I would of course have taken you by now as well...
But the reality is that our circumstances are indeed different. For that, I am really, really sorry as it's just the way things have turned out (especially this summer).
I just want to reassure you that I do still take note of the places you desire to go, the things you seek to do, the experiences you wish to live..and when it really is possible for me to make those a reality for you, I will do so unforgettably as I have no greater desire than to see you smile and burst with joy.

Yes, it has been almost 5 years and we haven't really gone to any "major" faraway places yet..But that just means we've got a lot more to do/see/experience on our list than most others do, and I fully intend to check off all that we have one at a time even though I'm sure the rate at which the list grows will far exceed our ability..which ultimately means there will always be more to look forward to.

Right now though? I look forward to waking up next to you. So I'm headed off to bed and that's it for tonight.

Thanks for being patient..I love you babe.

An overview

Class of '07 is so last year.
Exactly, last year.
Which means it's been one year since and I still can't believe it.

My first year in college has been great.
My grades are superb.
I've met wonderful friends that I will definitely keep for a lifetime.
The changes that comes with college all came at once that I was too busy to realize.

A comparison of Mimi-in-high-school is so much different from Mimi-in-college. Although I am still the same ol' me, I've grown a lot.
